Since I can remember I’ve wanted to be a photographer. I remember walking the halls of 1st grade, looking up at my peers “What do you want to be when you grow up?” artwork and thinking to myself, “It would be so cool to be a photographer but how in the world would I ever learn to do that?” Fast forward through 9 years of disposable cameras, video recorders, and making my little sister put on productions and photoshoots with me…. to my junior year in high school when I finally started practicing on REAL NOT-MY-SISTER subjects. I remember doing my first shoot, it was a senior shoot of someone I still shoot to this day, for $25. Shoutout to you Katlyn for putting up with me after all this time! I think the fact that Katlyn was brave enough to get in the water really sparked a lot of the magic. The images were amazing, so we thought, back then. Then came senior year and I joined the Young Entrepreneurs Academy… that’s where things really took off. We learned how to create a business plan and how to run a successful business, and the rest was history. I took my passion and made it a lifeline.
My style of photography is bright, natural and romantic. If you’ve read any of my about me’s, you’ll know I am most inspired by light and whimsy. It can be that golden, dreamy, and angelic light that is produced by the sun at sunset or as the sun rises. It can also be that dim, romantic candlelight in your reception. I am obsessed with taking available light and using it to create something magical. I really love creating photographs and moments that look straight out of a fairytale storybook. Your partner kissing your shoulder on a never-ending dirt path deep in the woods, or twirling you on a cliffside. I really love to express your love story as epic as it is. One thing Mark and I say to each other as we’re pulling up to your venue, “What are we going to do today?” and we’ll say, “CREATE EPICNESS!”
Everyday I wake up, so grateful that this is my life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blogs, booking sessions and even liking my posts on Facebook or Instagram. You’ll never know the extent of the grand effect it has had on me. You’ve pushed me to keep going, keep working harder and somedays, it’s helped me get out of bed. It’s a reason to live, my purpose. I can’t imagine a better way to spend my life than curating moments for you that you’ll remember forever so thank you, for letting me do that.
