Wedding at Boone Tavern Berea, KY Wedding Photographer / Sarah + Charlie
Wow, what an honor it was to celebrate Saturday with Sarah and Charlie on their wedding day. It started out cloudy but almost time for the ceremony, the sun came out and was there to stay the rest of the day. Sarah, her sister, her brother and her sweet work-wife Anna were in the gorgeous parlor of Boone Tavern getting ready for the day. Mary, Sarah’s sister, did her gorgeous make-up and hair while Anna was running around, making sure everything was going to be perfect for Sarah and Charlie. Chris, Sarah’s brother, was helping the ladies tie their dresses to perfection. I remember a few times when Mary was fixing Sarah’s hair, and Sarah was putting on Chris’s boutonnière.. I loved that sibling moment. It was so sweet to see them together, all getting ready to ensure their big sister’s wedding day was magical. I wish I was as close to my siblings as these three were.
Sarah HANDmade fur shaws for her bridesmaids to wear outside so they didn’t freeze. When Sarah told me that she made them, I couldn’t believe it because they were so beautiful! Fur is the PERFECT accessory for any winter wedding day. It’s the perfect pop of texture, feeling of coziness and hint of romance.
Meanwhile, the groomsmen were getting ready upstairs in room 304. I went up to get them for portraits and they had the best idea of Charlie picking them all up for a photo. That was funny, especially when Charlie’s brother, Daniel, almost fell but didn’t because they are that cool… haha!
When we arrived to the church, I was amazed by the beauty of the little church house that was built centuries ago. Mary had done an amazing job designing the ceremony decor. It was so elegant and fitting for the hint of Christmas that was to come in 3 days. It was beautiful and all I could hear from the guests were the ooh’s and ahhh’s at how stunning they found it as well.
I did choke back a few tears as Sarah was walking down the aisle and I saw Charlie tearing up. They are both so incredibly sweet, funny as crap and just made for each other. They said their vows, the preacher prayed over them, they tied a knot to unify their joining and kissed for the first time as, “Mr. & Mrs.”
The guests headed over to Boone Tavern for their reception and welcomed Charlie and Sarah with a confetti (snow, my favorite kind) toss when they arrived. That was so fun, there was fake snow EVERYWHERE but it really set the mood for their Christmas themed reception! Dinner was served, they shared special dances with their loved ones, they heard speeches from Mary, Chris, Doug, and Daniel… and Sarah danced the night away with her closest friends and family. My favorite moment from the reception was when Sarah + Charlie snuck outside for just a few moments for themselves. I saw them through the glass admiring the Christmas lights across the street and just taking a moment to breath. It was beautiful. I am so happy that I was chosen to be apart of their wedding day.

Kentucky Engagement Session / Kentucky Wedding Photographer / Abby + Brandon
My favorite person and second shooter and best person in the world, Sami Jo…. introduced me to Abby and Brandon when she found out they were getting married! I knew I would love Abby just by the way Sami Jo talked about her and I was not wrong! I also really love Brandon and Abby together. They are pretty much opposites but they compliment each other in all of the right ways… It works so well! I am so honored and excited to be their wedding photographer!
I hope you enjoy this preview of their engagement session :)
Wedding at Cave Hill Vineyard & Winery Kentucky Wedding Photographer / Tayler + Steven
TAYLER + STEVEN - 08.04.18
You guys, when we dream about perfect wedding days and almost nothing going wrong.... it was Tayler & Steven's day. It was absolutely perfect, and if something did go wrong, no one even knew about it! I will note that the only slight bump we had was for photos (of course, my job) and that was only because it was BLAZING HOT during family portraits. I mean, the sun was lingering just over the hills, a perfect spot to reach the ceremony site where we were doing family formals. We decided to get through what we could, and come back out for the remaining when the sun went away a little more! That worked out perfectly!
The details of the day were so simple and elegant. It was so so so timeless and gorgeous. Tayler and Sandy of Sassy Spoon Catering did the most amazing job planning details! It was BEAUTIFUL and also so, Tayler. I heard one of her best friends saying, "this is SO Tayler, it's so elegant and beautiful" and I think my photographer heart was beating so hard because that's the goal when planning a wedding, you want it to be YOU. Not someone else's idea of what it should it be.
Cave Hill Vineyard & Winery is easily my most favorite venue in the area. Maybe even in South-Central Kentucky which makes me a pretty lucky gal considering I live about 10 minutes away. Their staff works tirelessly to ensure that you have the most amazing day possible. Not only do they make the experience amazing, but their land is so breathtaking! Especially at sunset when the sun is dancing between the long rows of vines.
I also have to give a special shoutout to Sandy of Sassy Spoon Catering. She also went above and beyond and helped Tayler put together this perfect day. She decorated the entire reception area and served DELICIOUS food for the reception.
It was so cute to watch their first look, Steven turned around with a huge grin on his face and pulled her in for the tightest hug. I hope they have the happiest, most amazing life together... because they are two very kind people who deserve nothing but the best of what life has to give.
Oh, I also need to note that I adore their families for being so understanding of the heat! Thank you, you guys made my job soooo much easier!

Georgetown, Kentucky Wedding Georgetown College and Cardome Center / Kentucky Wedding Photographer / Peyton + Wil
Peyton + Wil's day was so beautiful! Payton started the day off with her gals in this historic house on campus with hair and makeup. They tucked her gorgeous custom made dress by Renee's Bridal away in a room downstairs... so that it could be grand revealed to her special ladies. Her momma and her godmother helped her into her dress.. she looked like a princess straight from a fairytale. It was magical. We lined her gals up on the staircase so that Payton could walk out and surprise them. It was so sweet when everyone smiled and cheered for how beautiful she was!
The bridesmaids walked across the street to line up for the ceremony, and Peyton met her father in a back room to load into a horse-drawn carriage. The ceremony site was so beautiful and elegant on the Georgetown Campus lawn. The trumpeter and flutist played beautifully as the bridal party made their way down the aisle. Peyton's father helped Peyton out of the carriage, and walked her down the aisle to meet her soon-to-be Mr.
The reception at the Cardome center was so decorated so beautifully. The flowers were stacked high, and the light was beaming through the old-stain glassed windows. It was the most perfect backdrop for their first dance. Peyton and her father surprised the guests with a fun father-daughter dance. It was so funny but soooo good! Everyone was LOVING IT!
Peyton danced ALL. NIGHT. LONG.... their reception was so much fun! EVERYONE was dancing! At the end of the night, their guests cheered them away with a glow stick send-off!
Peyton and Wil, thank so much for allowing me to document your M A G I C A L day. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness!

Lancaster Kentucky Engagement Session on Family Farm / Kentucky Wedding Photographer / Sarah + Charlie
Sarah and Charlie, what a dream couple! They currently live in Virginia and we scheduled their engagement session for when they would be in Kentucky for a family reunion!
They drove me around Charlie's family farm and showed me all of the most beautiful places. We started at the tree where Charlie proposed while they were hunting! Charlie's family had picked wildflowers and put them in watering cans, and even made a bouquet for Sarah to use. It was so sweet and sooooo gorgeous! We put them all around them under the tree while I made them practice their first dance, and do lots of "almost kissing" hehe :)
Charlie and Sarah are like two peas in a pod. I met Sarah previously for her family photos and I can say that I definitely seen a different side of her around Charlie. I can tell that he makes her so so so happy and they have so much fun just being around each other.
They will be getting married in Berea, Kentucky in December and I am SO HONORED to be apart of their day. I mean, they are just honestly, really cool, down to earth, amazing people.
I hope you enjoy my favorites from their engagement session :)
*side note - Also, I got to pet my first chicken!!!! Ok, those things feel REALLY weird but I was very surprised when it just let someone pick it up. It didn't even try to peck my eyeballs out!*
Engagement Session at Family Farm Kentucky Wedding Photographer / Angelina + Josh
So Angie has been best friends with Josh's sister for the past 10 years. It wasn't until his sister's wedding day, where Angie was the maid of honor, that she actually met her brother. They started talking that night and the rest is history. They are best friends, and just being around them you can tell that they are right where they are supposed to be. Together, they live on a farm with their newly built house and their sweet sweet puppers, Penelope. They are getting married next month and I am so so so honored and excited to be apart of it. Their wedding will take place on their land with all of their closest friends and family. They've decided they want their wedding day to be "them" and I think that is the best choice they could possibly make.

Enjoy my favorites from their engagement session!
Wedding at The Distillery Square Lexington, Kentucky / Kentucky Wedding Photographer / Shelby + Braxton
I've been trying to figure out the best words to use to describe Shelby + Braxton for a few hours now. Really though, it's 2:28 P.M. and I've been working on this post since 9 A.M but the truth is, nothing I could say would ever amount to even close as amazing as these two are as people or how thankful I am that they chose me to be their wedding photographer. Shelby is an awesome person, full of personality and really, the nicest person I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Braxton is such a gentleman and truly adores Shelby like there is no tomorrow. Plus, while we were doing their engagement session back in the fall, I totally noticed that they are like the most perfect replica of Ariel and Prince Eric. I mean, who doesn't enjoy photographing a real life fairytale? I told them they should be that for halloween one year.
Their wedding day was full of tears, giggles, 2000's throwbacks, beer, close friends and family, a party bus, greenery details, Gatsby cars (her grandfather brought this beautiful car, I wish I had car knowledge so I could tell you what it was) and a very handsome groom and a DROP. DEAD. GORGEOUS. bride.
The ladies got dressed at Shelby's friend's GORGEOUS home and we did the bride + groom's first look at the Embassy Suites. Thankfully we were there because about 3 minutes into photos, they were BURNING UP. It was honestly one of the hottest days of the year so we went in for a bit and decided to try and get as many photos as we could inside. One of Shelby's amazing bridesmaids was able to throw Shelby's hair into a delicate up-do so it wouldn't be as hot. We hopped back on to the party bus and made our way to Gratz Park for some bridal portraits in the shade.
When we got to the venue, it was time for a first look with her father. It was definitely on the list of one of the best moments of the day because Bob was literally speechless for a second! Shelby had started crying as soon as she seen her father standing there.
Their ceremony took place in a little enchanted garden across from their reception venue, Distillery Square. Despite the heat, everyone was cheering them on as they kissed for the first time as Mr. & Mrs.
The bridal party each came up with their own unique little dances to enter into the reception so it was cool to see each of their personalities. The rest of the night was a dream. They drank, danced, ate from a mexican buffet, ate cake, toasts were given by Shelby's father, the best man and Shelby's maid of honor. At the end of the night, their guests lit sparklers as they kissed in the middle of them, and loaded into her grandfathers car.
Shelby and Braxton, thank you thank you thank you for letting me be apart of your day. It was so nice getting to know you both over the past months. I hope you are able to relive your day through these photographs every. single. time.
I hope you enjoy my favorites from their wedding day <3
