Kentucky Wedding Photographers / The Natural Arch couple session
I’m so stinking excited to be writing this blog post because I’ve long awaited this shoot. Although Kenzi won my insta story giveaway, Kenzi is my hair gal; she’s been making me red headed for almost 2 years now and I couldn’t be more thankful for someone helping me feel like me <3 It was nice to be on the other side of our service exchange for once! :) She also does hair and makeup for my clients sometimes, so you may have even met her yourself so you already know how sweet she is!
I remember one time sitting in her chair she said, “I knew I would never feel like myself until I met my husband.” and I got to meet him during this session! He is so nice and I can see why they are such a good match for each other. I definitely cannot imagine Kenzi without Jordan and I really enjoy hearing about him and their relationship when I’m sitting in her chair each month. They are two peas in a pod. They go together like peas and carrots :) I hope that shows through their photos. Enjoy!
Kentucky Wedding Photographers / Couple Session at Short Creek
Hanna and Josiah were so much fun because their connection was FIREWORKS. They came all the way from Florida to visit some family and have their photos made. I don’t think there was a second that we weren’t all giggling. They did every single silly thing I asked them to do and did it so well. AND IT WAS RAINING! They were troopers and didn’t complain once…even through the mud that got on Josiah’s pants. I hope you guys love their images as much as I loved shooting them.
Couple Session at Jacobson Park Lexington, Kentucky / Ashley + Noel / Kentucky Wedding Photographer
I was supposed to actually meet with Ashley + Noel the night before for pizza and sparklers but I had a family emergency with my grandma that pushed us to make Sunrise work. I am so so so thankful we ended up doing sunrise because we wouldn't have had this magical of a session without it. If it's possible for you to wake up extremely early, I definitely recommend a sunrise session. The lighting is always like NO OTHER time of the day, and the colors in the sky are so pastel-ish and soft.
Ashley and Noel, I don't even know where to begin. They are two of my most favorite people on the planet. I've been photographing them since 2015 and recently Ashley moved to Lexington, so I knew we had to do their next shoot there! I know I've said on a previous blog, but Ashley is so funny! They both make each session so fun and it makes work seem a lot less like work. Really, they are just two people who get each other and oh, LOVE dogs... together, they have 4.. #couplegoals.
I hope you enjoy this preview of their session. Ashley and Noel, thanks for getting up at the crack of dawn with me.. and thanks for the coffee!!! :)

Amy + DJ / Kentucky Wedding Photographer
" love her loudly
because she deserves more
than a whisper
my god, she deserves the
infinite crescendo
the never ending climax
of your love."
.sam rhiley
We threw this shoot together in literally less than an hour. Amy and Dj drove down to me from Richmond for the most perfect flower field that was right in my own backyard. I literally ADORE working with these two... they are so patient, Amy is hilarious, and DJ compliments her crazy model talent with his. They are open for bookings and you should totally book with them if you need a model couple for any reason :) This was my second time working with the both of them! Last time it was honestly the windiest day of the year in February and it was FREEZING! These two toughed it out with me for about an hour and a half- it was so worth it but we were thankful for that sunshine this time!
Couple Session at The University of Kentucky Arboretum / Destiny + Justice / Kentucky Wedding Photographer
I photographed Justice + Destiny back when I first began in the photography world in 2013. Looking back on those photos, they were ROUGH hahahah as everyones first photos are. They were so in love back then, and now, 5 years (5!!!!!) later they are even more in love than they were then. I am so happy they trusted me to do their photos again as those looking back were a HOT MESS HAHAHAHA. I guess it helped a little when Destiny chose me to do her senior photos back in 2016. I'm so thankful for these two as they truly have followed me on this crazy journey of life and growth.
It's always a fun session when the couple in front of you vibe so well. I remember pointing out a crazy looking cloud and Destiny goes, "That looks like a..." and they both blurted the word "Ship!". I know of at least two other times they finished each other sentences in the hour I had with them.
I was super excited when Destiny asked if we could go to the arboretum for their session. It's seriously one of my favorite places in the WORLD and it provides the perfect kind of romantic feels, any time of day.
I hope you enjoy my personal favorites from their couple session and maybe you will get a little sense of who they are together <3

The Falls at Ohio State Park Engagement Session / Abby + Cody
A girl from East Tennessee and a boy from Indianapolis fell in love about 2 1/2 years ago. A little over a year ago, Abby moved to Indianapolis to be with Cody and in September, their family and friends will come together to celebrate the joining of their forever in Danville, Kentucky. We researched locations for their engagement session for WEEKS and we decided to meet in the middle, in Louisville, actually Clarksville at The Falls at Ohio State Park. Guys, it is GORGEOUS! Even in the bright mid-day sun, it was beautiful. There are bridges, greenery, washed up driftwood, and a beautiful cityscape of Louisville across the water.
Abby is gorgeous and has the most beautiful blue (she said they change colors, but yesterday they were blue) eyes and Cody is so funny! I totally have to note that we seen a miniature beagle while walking around the park and my heart is pretty set on loving one of those babies one day. It was so tiny and so cute and so so sweet.. anyways, Abby said she is going to invent a pulley system so that she can get a small dog for their two-story apartment and they can just lower it down to the ground to use the potty. HAHAHAHAHA.
Yesterday was such a pretty day, and I am sooooo beyond excited for their wedding in September. I hope you guys enjoy my favorites from their engagement session!
Nashville, TN Couples Session / My Best Friend / Ali + Tom
It was soooooooo good to see my best friend from high school last week. I had a session scheduled in Nashville, which is where she now lives along with her amazing boyfriend, Tom so I knew I wanted to catch up and do some photos of her and him. He makes her seriously so happy, I've never seen her in this state of bliss but I will let the photos speak for themselves ;)
so thank you Tom, for making my best friend the happiest girl in the world.
and thank you Ali, for all of the memories and funny stories that are probably not blog appropriate.
Anniversary Session at Rocky Hollow Park / Torri + Jordan
It's so hard to believe that not even 2 years ago, these two were lovebirds were attending a wedding that I was photographing and in two days, it will be a year since they said "I do." I remember their wedding day being very cold, and very rainy but that didn't stop them from having the best day of their lives. Torri was such a beautiful bride and I was so happy to catch up with them again for their 1 year anniversary. We did reschedule this shoot a lot because of the April rain and snow showers, so it was amaaaaazing to have a day full of sunshine as well as the perfect temperature. Torri + Jordan are a crap ton of fun; they are up for anything, and are full of laughs.
There is NEVER a dull moment with these two. First, I almost sunk into a swamp of mud, I stuck one foot in and down I went... anything for the perfect picture, right? ;) We accidentally left Torri's shoes down this gigantic hill and Jordan had to run back and get them. Also, while they were changing on the side of a building (the restrooms were locked) some man comes out of nowhere... hahahahah thankfully they weren't undressed yet.
I am soooooooo looking forward to more of these warm, sunny spring days and following along Torri and Jordan's marriage journey. Torri owns a boutique in Monticello, Happily Ever After Boutique and you should definitely check it out :) I am pretty sure both of her outfits for this shoot came from there!
Well, I hope you enjoy my favorites from their love sesh <3 Interested in booking your own? Click here :)
