Forest Engagement Session / Kentucky Photographer
We got to visit where they are getting married and you guys, IT’S PERFECT. October 9th cannot come soon enough! Their chemistry is unmatched. I’ve been dying to do a ring shot on a mushroom for as long as I can remember, and as we were walking through the woods, all of the mushrooms were calling my name. I told Cassie and she was so excited about it so we spent probably 20 minutes hunting the perfect mushroom. I thought I had found one prior, but it was covered in powder and my fingers were tingling so that probably wasn't the best idea.
Cassie and Austin were seriously so easy to photograph. They were worried about being awkward but I don’t think I felt awkwardness once and that is super cool for a 2 hour photo shoot. I think it’s so cool that they took us to this little nook on their families property, somewhere only those who live there know. It was magical, I can only imagine it’s beauty when the water flow is stronger.
We ended their perfect engagement session with their tie dye tees and a hammock. This is their natural habitat, one of the many things they love to do together.
Wedding at Spindletop Hall Lexington, Kentucky / Kentucky Wedding Photographer
I have never seen a bride that wore timeless better. Lauren and Matthew were straight out of an old Hollywood movie, think dancing in the street at 3am in the pouring rain kind of movie… but the guy is holding an umbrella so your hair doesn’t ruin.. a starlet and her chivalrous, romantic man. A power couple. A statement. Lauren, you are a dream.
Spindletop Hall is seriously breathtaking. Each room has exquisite detail, that you cannot help but explore. It provides such a magical, romantic ambience throughout. They were so relaxed, and laid back throughout the day, it’s almost like they knew they were right where they were supposed to be. They hoped the rain would pass, but right when it came time for the ceremony to begin, the rain forced itself down harder. Letting a few minutes pass, they made the ultimate decision to bring their guests into the Library of Spindletop for an intimate, dry ceremony. Lauren’s father, was the officiant and led the sweet ceremony that joined them as one.

So, today at approximately 12:00 pm, James and Danielle came together in front of myself, their videographer and officiant, and promised to spend forever with each other. They fed each other red velvet cake and shared a first dance to a song that makes Danielle cry. It was so beautiful to see this couple so in love, and so ready to start their lives together. Their wedding day was cancelled because of Covid-19 but I am so honored and so happy that I got to be apart of this special day. It. was. perfect.
Thank you for letting me be apart of it guys.
I hope you have the best time on your honeymoon!!!!
Wedding at Yew Dell Botanical Gardens / Kentucky Wedding Photographer
OH MY GOOOODNESSSSSSSSSSS - I cannot contain the excitement I have for writing this blog. Lindsay and Drew’s wedding day is something I have long awaited since early February of 2019 when they booked with me. These two people are the most sincere kind souls I have ever met and Lindsay is a LITERAL angel that fell straight from heaven. She’s beautiful, on the inside and out. Never have I ever been more humbled by a persons energy. Unfortunately, they have been through the ringer and back with their wedding plans due to Covid-19 but regardless of what plans changed, 5-30-2020 was the most BEAUTIFUL, PERFECT, FAIRYTALE day.
We started at Lindsay’s parents house, where she got ready with her bridesmaids. She did a first look with her father and her girls. Her dads reaction was simply the sweetest moment as she walked down the staircase to meet him. We then drove over to Yew Dell Botanical Gardens, where they awaited the ceremony tucked away in a castle fit for a princess. During the ceremony, Lindsay walked down the aisle with the happiest tears in her eyes as she saw her groom for the first time that day, Drew couldn’t hold back his feelings either. They exchanged rings, shared the most SWEETEST vows, performed a tying the knot ceremony and kissed for the first time as Mr. & Mrs.
Because most of their friends and family couldn’t be there due to the Covid-19 restrictions, they were able to have a drive-by with some of the guests that were missing. They brought cards, smiles and I saw a few good dance moves out the windows of each vehicle. I am so happy that they were able to do this. It was nice to see Lindsay and Drew showered by so much love.
So please enjoy this preview of the most magical day ever….
Wedding at Old Glory Schoolhouse / Kentucky Wedding Photographers
It was a beautiful day for a wedding. The sun was shining and the crisp fall air lingered around Old Glory Schoolhouse. I can’t believe this day has came and went, it seems like we’ve waited SO LONG for this day. These two have overcame mountains together. Which if you missed their engagement session, I mean that literally and figuratively. They were high school and college sweethearts. The love they have for each other is untouchable. I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know them over photos for the past 4 years now.
The schoolhouse barn was absolutely FULL. So many people love Jessica and James and their great love story. I don’t know how you couldn’t though, Jessica is the sweetest human in the world. She always goes out of her way to make sure I’m ok. James is so nice and funny- he can lighten the mood of anything! They are truly a perfect match.
I love that Jessica incorporated her classroom by hanging signs that said, “LOVE IS” and was filled in by her students. I also love that James told me about Jessica’s extra gift, although she couldn’t get it until after their honeymoon, a cute little wiener dog. I knew she would be so excited, and after seeing the photos of it on Facebook, I was right. :) it’s so stinking cute! Congrats on the doggy, guys!
I hope you enjoy this preview of their wedding day!
a special thanks to my amazing second shooter/business partner - Samantha Hawkins!

I HAVE SO MANY FAVORITES FROM THIS DAY and so many favorite moments.
I love love love that Lindsey and Colton did a first look and decided to read their vows to each other privately before their ceremony. I was crying SO HARD from a distance as it was the sweetest moment. Witnessing the two of them, completely unguarded and full of love for each other and the anticipation of what the day would hold on their faces. Lindsey was so beautiful! Her delicate lace detailed dress, and the soft babies breath that graced her veil delicately. She was straight out of a fairytale. There was this butterfly, that sat right on Lindsey’s bouquet during their first look. It kept fluttering around them and followed us the entire time we took photos! THEN, as Lindsey walked down the aisle, the butterfly landed RIGHT on Colton’s head and then on their hands as they exchanged rings. It is said in some cultures, that if a brown butterfly lands on you, it means you are about to have good luck! What a perfect symbol for Lindsey & Colton’s fairytale wedding day.
I also love that they shared their first dance with the father/daughter and mother/son dance. They took a tradition and made it their own based on what was important to them. We also need to talk about their FAVORS! CUTE LITTLE CANDLES! I have never seen such a cute idea! I was so excited to take one home, I thought about it all day but then totally forgot to grab one!
Another favorite part of the day, Lindsey and Colton snuck into the room in the midst of their reception just to have some alone time. I walked in on Colton fixing Lindsey’s shoe and she said, “Can you document this time?” Of course!! This is what it is all about. The two of you. So they jumped on the bed, and then sat and just talked; together, privately and just took it all in. I think everyone needs to do that. It’s good to remind yourselves in the midst of the chaos of what is most important.
I went to school with Lindsey and she was one of the very few people who were genuinely the sweetest, kindest, and most sincere. I looked up to her so much so you can imagine the joy in my heart that I feel knowing she has found someone who she deserves. She is worthy of so much. Colton and Lindsey, I wish you the most amazing life together. Enjoy this preview of their wedding day.
Kentucky Wedding Photographer Engagement Session at Oak Hill Gardens / Chelsea + Josh
Wowowowowow, I can’t believe this day has finally came! It wasn’t too long ago that I remember working aside Chelsea at her former boutique and talking about the boy that just came into her life. She definitely made him work for it and I loved that so much because Chelsea is a woman that deserves the best of the best. She is so strong, beautiful, hard working and so very loyal. I remember the day that Josh asked her to be his girlfriend… he had roses spread out in his apartment that lead Chelsea to the bathroom mirror with a note that I think said something like, “Will you be my girlfriend?.” Not to long after that, I had the pleasure of photographing their first session as a couple on the road that Josh’s family lived. It’s so beautiful out there. Josh proposed at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC and now here we are, CHELSEA IS GETTING MARRIED IN SEPTEMBER! He makes her so happy and I am so happy to have watched their relationship grow and blossom year after year.
We went to Oak Hill Gardens, although it was super bright, we were able to get some gorgeous shots around the whimsical landscaping. We ended it their session at Holly Bay beach where they danced in the sand and we watched the sun began to set. I absolutely cannot wait for their wedding day. It can’t come soon enough!!!!!
ALSO, It’s JOSH’S BIRTHDAY!!!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOSH!!!!
Wedding at Boone Tavern Berea, KY Wedding Photographer / Sarah + Charlie
Wow, what an honor it was to celebrate Saturday with Sarah and Charlie on their wedding day. It started out cloudy but almost time for the ceremony, the sun came out and was there to stay the rest of the day. Sarah, her sister, her brother and her sweet work-wife Anna were in the gorgeous parlor of Boone Tavern getting ready for the day. Mary, Sarah’s sister, did her gorgeous make-up and hair while Anna was running around, making sure everything was going to be perfect for Sarah and Charlie. Chris, Sarah’s brother, was helping the ladies tie their dresses to perfection. I remember a few times when Mary was fixing Sarah’s hair, and Sarah was putting on Chris’s boutonnière.. I loved that sibling moment. It was so sweet to see them together, all getting ready to ensure their big sister’s wedding day was magical. I wish I was as close to my siblings as these three were.
Sarah HANDmade fur shaws for her bridesmaids to wear outside so they didn’t freeze. When Sarah told me that she made them, I couldn’t believe it because they were so beautiful! Fur is the PERFECT accessory for any winter wedding day. It’s the perfect pop of texture, feeling of coziness and hint of romance.
Meanwhile, the groomsmen were getting ready upstairs in room 304. I went up to get them for portraits and they had the best idea of Charlie picking them all up for a photo. That was funny, especially when Charlie’s brother, Daniel, almost fell but didn’t because they are that cool… haha!
When we arrived to the church, I was amazed by the beauty of the little church house that was built centuries ago. Mary had done an amazing job designing the ceremony decor. It was so elegant and fitting for the hint of Christmas that was to come in 3 days. It was beautiful and all I could hear from the guests were the ooh’s and ahhh’s at how stunning they found it as well.
I did choke back a few tears as Sarah was walking down the aisle and I saw Charlie tearing up. They are both so incredibly sweet, funny as crap and just made for each other. They said their vows, the preacher prayed over them, they tied a knot to unify their joining and kissed for the first time as, “Mr. & Mrs.”
The guests headed over to Boone Tavern for their reception and welcomed Charlie and Sarah with a confetti (snow, my favorite kind) toss when they arrived. That was so fun, there was fake snow EVERYWHERE but it really set the mood for their Christmas themed reception! Dinner was served, they shared special dances with their loved ones, they heard speeches from Mary, Chris, Doug, and Daniel… and Sarah danced the night away with her closest friends and family. My favorite moment from the reception was when Sarah + Charlie snuck outside for just a few moments for themselves. I saw them through the glass admiring the Christmas lights across the street and just taking a moment to breath. It was beautiful. I am so happy that I was chosen to be apart of their wedding day.

Without further a-due, please enjoy this preview of Sarah + Charlie’s wedding day!!!
