I've been trying to figure out the best words to use to describe Shelby + Braxton for a few hours now. Really though, it's 2:28 P.M. and I've been working on this post since 9 A.M but the truth is, nothing I could say would ever amount to even close as amazing as these two are as people or how thankful I am that they chose me to be their wedding photographer. Shelby is an awesome person, full of personality and really, the nicest person I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Braxton is such a gentleman and truly adores Shelby like there is no tomorrow. Plus, while we were doing their engagement session back in the fall, I totally noticed that they are like the most perfect replica of Ariel and Prince Eric. I mean, who doesn't enjoy photographing a real life fairytale? I told them they should be that for halloween one year.
Their wedding day was full of tears, giggles, 2000's throwbacks, beer, close friends and family, a party bus, greenery details, Gatsby cars (her grandfather brought this beautiful car, I wish I had car knowledge so I could tell you what it was) and a very handsome groom and a DROP. DEAD. GORGEOUS. bride.
The ladies got dressed at Shelby's friend's GORGEOUS home and we did the bride + groom's first look at the Embassy Suites. Thankfully we were there because about 3 minutes into photos, they were BURNING UP. It was honestly one of the hottest days of the year so we went in for a bit and decided to try and get as many photos as we could inside. One of Shelby's amazing bridesmaids was able to throw Shelby's hair into a delicate up-do so it wouldn't be as hot. We hopped back on to the party bus and made our way to Gratz Park for some bridal portraits in the shade.
When we got to the venue, it was time for a first look with her father. It was definitely on the list of one of the best moments of the day because Bob was literally speechless for a second! Shelby had started crying as soon as she seen her father standing there.
Their ceremony took place in a little enchanted garden across from their reception venue, Distillery Square. Despite the heat, everyone was cheering them on as they kissed for the first time as Mr. & Mrs.
The bridal party each came up with their own unique little dances to enter into the reception so it was cool to see each of their personalities. The rest of the night was a dream. They drank, danced, ate from a mexican buffet, ate cake, toasts were given by Shelby's father, the best man and Shelby's maid of honor. At the end of the night, their guests lit sparklers as they kissed in the middle of them, and loaded into her grandfathers car.
Shelby and Braxton, thank you thank you thank you for letting me be apart of your day. It was so nice getting to know you both over the past months. I hope you are able to relive your day through these photographs every. single. time.
I hope you enjoy my favorites from their wedding day <3
