TEST SHOT TUESDAY: Kentucky Fashion Photographer / Shooting with Kailan
The best and hardest part about shooting with Kailan is that we almost NEVER plan anything. We both come to the meeting point with minds full of ideas to explore, outfits and props. No discussion, pressure or stress is allowed. We just want to have fun shooting with maybe a vibe in mind, but no restrictions or expectations. I think that’s where I am most inspired - with help from the lighting conditions and Kailan’s wardrobe :)
Kailan is a beautiful person. She’s currently in her journey of being a yoga instructor while inspiring me, personally and the world with positive vibes. I feel like I’ve said it 10 times already but I generally just love shooting with her. It’s so relaxed, we’re always on the same page, and she just makes my heart happy. :)
I hope you enjoy the finished product! •

Kentucky Engagement Session / Kentucky Wedding Photographer / Abby + Brandon
My favorite person and second shooter and best person in the world, Sami Jo…. introduced me to Abby and Brandon when she found out they were getting married! I knew I would love Abby just by the way Sami Jo talked about her and I was not wrong! I also really love Brandon and Abby together. They are pretty much opposites but they compliment each other in all of the right ways… It works so well! I am so honored and excited to be their wedding photographer!
I hope you enjoy this preview of their engagement session :)
Family Session in Albany, Kentucky / Kentucky Family Photographer / Olivia + Spencer
This family session was SO fun! Braden is THE cutest kid. He was so happy and so cooperative the ENTIRE TIME. Olivia + Spencer also just got engaged recently so we wanted to use their family session as kind of an engagement session also! We went to this creek they go to quite often down the road from their home and it was SOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL! Braden fell down in the creek about 10 pictures in, so we had to strip him down. He was still so good, and you can see the love between them in the photos. Olivia's momma came along to give him candy when he needed a smile :) We ended in a rolling hills cow field at sunset where Braden told me allllllll about the cows! Seriously, that kid gets the cutest kid EVER award.
I hope you enjoy this preview of their session, and Olivia + Spencer, I wish you two the most AMAZING life of happiness and love!
Family Session at Conley Bottom Monticello, Kentucky Photographer / The Hansen Family
This day was so fun. Erica and Chris come down from Cincinnati to their house next to Conley Bottom almost every weekend to spend time on the lake with their kids, and their close family. When I arrived, I first met Auggie.. she came out of the house carrying her cute little blankie, and told me she was wearing her pretty shoes. She told me all about their doggies, and each of their names. I knew that she was going to be so fun! I learned that Levi, the cute little dude wearing the white shirt, is the middle child and really really loves Fortnite... which I also learned about that day. Apparently, that is a big deal in 2018, and I had no idea. That is how I know I am getting old ;)
We turned a bit of our session into a dance off, because Levi REALLY really enjoyed that. Max loved it when I said "ok, come over here... and let me tell you a secret. NOW, when I count to three, I want you to attack your parents." I could see the little smirks creeping up on Max and Levi's faces, so I instantly said "WITH LOVE." That was so cute! Auggie loved that part too, because she wanted to attack them again just herself and she kept whispering it to me.
We started their session on this little lawn across from the house. I loved that we were able to incorporate that because it is where they spend their weekends. We then went to their family friend's house to enjoy a gorgeous view of the lake from a deck in the trees. I didn't even know that this area existed in Monticello, and it was SO GORGEOUS! We then went to Conley Bottom to hopefully get some cute ones of everyone on the dock, but even after Erica promised Levi DISNEY WORLD for a smile, he was just too sad! He is SOOOOO cute! If I had known that a quarter to feed the ducks was all it would have took for a smile, I would have tried that a long time ago :)
Thanks for spending time with me guys. I hope these photos remind you of your summers in Kentucky for the rest of your lives!
Georgetown, Kentucky Wedding Georgetown College and Cardome Center / Kentucky Wedding Photographer / Peyton + Wil
Peyton + Wil's day was so beautiful! Payton started the day off with her gals in this historic house on campus with hair and makeup. They tucked her gorgeous custom made dress by Renee's Bridal away in a room downstairs... so that it could be grand revealed to her special ladies. Her momma and her godmother helped her into her dress.. she looked like a princess straight from a fairytale. It was magical. We lined her gals up on the staircase so that Payton could walk out and surprise them. It was so sweet when everyone smiled and cheered for how beautiful she was!
The bridesmaids walked across the street to line up for the ceremony, and Peyton met her father in a back room to load into a horse-drawn carriage. The ceremony site was so beautiful and elegant on the Georgetown Campus lawn. The trumpeter and flutist played beautifully as the bridal party made their way down the aisle. Peyton's father helped Peyton out of the carriage, and walked her down the aisle to meet her soon-to-be Mr.
The reception at the Cardome center was so decorated so beautifully. The flowers were stacked high, and the light was beaming through the old-stain glassed windows. It was the most perfect backdrop for their first dance. Peyton and her father surprised the guests with a fun father-daughter dance. It was so funny but soooo good! Everyone was LOVING IT!
Peyton danced ALL. NIGHT. LONG.... their reception was so much fun! EVERYONE was dancing! At the end of the night, their guests cheered them away with a glow stick send-off!
Peyton and Wil, thank so much for allowing me to document your M A G I C A L day. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness!

Kentucky Senior Photographer / Madison H. / Class of 2019
Madison is a total SWEETHEART. About a week before her session I went location scouting to find some places that went with what Madison had in mind for her vibe. I sent her two spots the first day and a million other spots the next. We ended up picking the first two spots I sent... which I was excited because they were new to me and totally worth the adventure. We also went to Short Creek, and to my surprise, Madison had never even been there! I’m happy the water was that emerald color when we went because it seems like every time I go there for photos, it’s muddy. We found this little enchanted spot, there was ivy growing up the side of the cave, and butterflies EVERYWHERE! It was soooo pretty.... I kind of felt bad making Madison stand over there because she is scared of butterflies.. or any kind of bug. I can't imagine someone making me stand close to a snake :| sorry Madison!!!!
The last spot we went to, was this beautiful piece of land where nothing except wildlife and nature lives. The sun was tucked behind the clouds, but the lighting was still amazing.... UNTIL.... we heard a growl, that may have been a far off car, but we got out there QUICK. hahahah!
Thank you so much for allowing me to be your senior photographer Madison!
I hope senior year is amazing, and I hope you love this preview of your senior session!
Lancaster Kentucky Engagement Session on Family Farm / Kentucky Wedding Photographer / Sarah + Charlie
Sarah and Charlie, what a dream couple! They currently live in Virginia and we scheduled their engagement session for when they would be in Kentucky for a family reunion!
They drove me around Charlie's family farm and showed me all of the most beautiful places. We started at the tree where Charlie proposed while they were hunting! Charlie's family had picked wildflowers and put them in watering cans, and even made a bouquet for Sarah to use. It was so sweet and sooooo gorgeous! We put them all around them under the tree while I made them practice their first dance, and do lots of "almost kissing" hehe :)
Charlie and Sarah are like two peas in a pod. I met Sarah previously for her family photos and I can say that I definitely seen a different side of her around Charlie. I can tell that he makes her so so so happy and they have so much fun just being around each other.
They will be getting married in Berea, Kentucky in December and I am SO HONORED to be apart of their day. I mean, they are just honestly, really cool, down to earth, amazing people.
I hope you enjoy my favorites from their engagement session :)
*side note - Also, I got to pet my first chicken!!!! Ok, those things feel REALLY weird but I was very surprised when it just let someone pick it up. It didn't even try to peck my eyeballs out!*
Engagement Session at Family Farm Kentucky Wedding Photographer / Angelina + Josh
So Angie has been best friends with Josh's sister for the past 10 years. It wasn't until his sister's wedding day, where Angie was the maid of honor, that she actually met her brother. They started talking that night and the rest is history. They are best friends, and just being around them you can tell that they are right where they are supposed to be. Together, they live on a farm with their newly built house and their sweet sweet puppers, Penelope. They are getting married next month and I am so so so honored and excited to be apart of it. Their wedding will take place on their land with all of their closest friends and family. They've decided they want their wedding day to be "them" and I think that is the best choice they could possibly make.
<3
Enjoy my favorites from their engagement session!
